The Ridings Folk are people who camp together (with tents, trailer tents, caravans and motor homes) and have common interests in Folk music, dance and traditions.

We meet monthly to spend a weekend in some of the most beautiful out of the way places in Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, Heartbeat Country, James Herriot Country, Bronte Country, The Last of The Summer Wine Country are all destinations for The Ridings Folk. Friday and Saturday nights don't need to be spent alone in your tent. Even if you know nothing of Folk music and dance you can come along to socials and be sure of a warm Yorkshire welcome and interesting entertainment The Ridings have a special welcome for families, we already have a thriving youth section with many activities for our young people. We place a high priority on making sure that all of our meets are a safe and secure environment for everybody to share together

Often our Meets will coincide with great traditional Yorkshire Spectacles and Events, such as the Beverley Folk Festival and the Skipton Canal Boat Festival   We enjoy joining in traditional folk activities together. Every Meet has opportunities for us to meet and share our interests. Playing, Singing, Dancing and Traditional Crafts   We value the peace that our rural locations provide, leaving space for people to relax or do their own thing, whether it is walking, cycling, sight seeing or just a cup of coffee with others.

Any Member of The Ridings can join, so sign up now.
. The Friends of The Ridings Online Community has a policy of approving all applications individually, so there may be a delay of up to 48 hours before you receive a notification email of your membership approval.

Not a member of The Ridings? Well you are still welcome to join our Online Community, however, you will have to explain your reasons for wishing to join, or you will need to have a sponsor from within The Ridings. More details, are provided through the signing up process.
Acceptance of Non-Ridings folk to membership of The Friends of The Ridings web site is entirely at the discretion of the Administrators of the Web Site, though appeal can be made to the Secretary of The Ridings Folk Group (email address on this page).
