AUTUMN GATHER, SYKEHOUSE, 22-26 SEPTEMBER 2011

Every year one of the Folk Group's Areas organises an Autumn Gather and Members' Meeting and this year it was the turn of the Ridings Area to organise it. This was held at Sykehouse Village Hall and on Thursday evening there was a get together and sing-a-round and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings we had dancing and also some 'spots'. Some people took advantage of catching the bus to Doncaster

NATIONAL EASTER MEET AT UTTOXETER RACECOURSE APRIL 2011

The Easter Meet was organised by the North West Area with lovely sunny weather, too nice really to be inside taking advantage of all the activities on offer. If you haven't been to an Easter Meet, it will be hard to imagine all the different events you can take part in. Next year the National Easter Meet will be organised by The Ridings Area and held at a school in Wetherby

NATIONAL EASTER MEET AT SAWSTON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE APRIL 2010

The Easter Meet was organised by the South West Area and Wessex Area. Although there had been a lot of rain before Easter, the field was in a good state and it turned out to be nice and sunny. The activities at an Easter Meet are too numerous to mention with various types of craft, dance and music with organised activities for children. Next year we will be back at Uttoxeter Race Course which will be organised by the North West Area

NATIONAL EASTER MEET AT UTTOXETER RACECOURSE APRIL 2009

It was the turn of North Central Area to organise the National Easter Meet which was held at Uttoxeter Racecourse. The various rooms on site were used for the different activities and there were no worries about units getting stuck on site as there were a lot of hard tracks around

NATIONAL EASTER MEET AT THIRSK 2008

Each year a different area of the Folk Group organise a National Meet and in 2008 it was the turn of The Ridings Area and was held at Thirsk. Local Areas have similar activities throughout the year, but not on the same scale as the Easter Meet
